Heather is a HCPC registered Chartered Physiotherapist with an interest in sport and injury rehabilitation. She graduated from the University of Southampton in 2007 and worked in Hampshire and Dorset across a broad spectrum of NHS and private sector specialities including a private health club, National League rugby, corporate occupational health and private practice. She has provided first aid services for numerous rugby events and been a team physio for various County, National League and local teams.
Every patient is different and daily she meets a plethora of sporting, rheumatology, orthopedic or arthritic conditions. Each needs careful assessment, individual planning and holistic treatment with a view to enabling every patient to reach their specific goals.
Heather specialises in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and has completed post graduate training in Western Acupuncture which is one of the many tools commonly used by Physiotherapists for the treatment of pain. She and is currently studying for an MSc leading to recognition by the prestigious Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
She has qualifications recognised by England Athletics for running leadership and has supported a local football team with their pre-season conditioning as well as helping to lead the junior running club division. She has participated in various competitive sports over the years including rowing, triathlon and running club events.
In 2017 Heather plans to focus on her running and has signed up for an ultra-marathon on the South Downs Way in June. She is enjoying a new role at the Firefighters Charity working as a rehabilitation physiotherapist with injured firefighters and their families. She also hopes to complete her masters dissertation studying musculoskeletal physiotherapists and their role in health promotion in the UK.
